Born at Beverley, Yorks. Enlisted at Guernsey.
Died of wounds, aged 30 years
His father (Charles) enlisted in the 1st
Bn, East Yorkshire Regt as 1049 and attained the rank
of Colour Serjeant he was awarded the Long Service and
Good Conduct Medal (LSGC) and later was one of the Permanent
Staff Instructors for the 3rd Bn Royal Guernsey Militia
Light Infantry, served 25 years (1873 1899).
He had transferred to the 3rd RGM (LI) 16th Sept 1889
and was finally discharged 1st January 1899
