MILITARY MEDAL BAR

During the period April 9th to 12th, 1917 near FABUS WOOD, this N.C.O. was in charge of two machine guns, He followed up the attack and when the final objective had been captured very quickly placed the guns in a position thereby defending a threatened flank. During the remainder of the time he visited the positions and supervised the work, exposing himself to constant machine gun and shell fire and by his courage and cheerfulness under these trying circumstances he instilled great confidence in his men and greatly increased their efficiency.
