MILITARY MEDAL

On April 9th 1917 during the attack on VIMY RIDGE. This N.C.O. accompanied by another lines-man followed up in rear of the attack controlling telephone lines which had been laid. He repaired several breaks under heavy shell fire. The splendid work done by this N.C.O. helped to maintain constant communication between Battalion Headquarters and the forward area throughout the action. He has done conspicuously good work during 18 months with the Battalion in France, particularly in the YPRES SALIENT.
