The final resting place of many RGLI soldiers who lost their lives on 1st December 1917.

Son of the late Henry & Betsy de Carteret (nee Gamon). Born at Sark and resident at Vale, Guernsey. Enlisted at Guernsey. Husband of Amelia Rosalie. Brother of Thomas & Elizabeth Ann Flora. He was a stoker at the gasworks.

Killed in action at Masnieres, Cambrai, in hand to hand fighting, aged 30 years.
