"Temporary Captain George Herbert Forty, Duke of Cornwall's light Infantry. For conspicuous gallantry in action. He brought his company up under intense fire to re-inforce another battalion, displaying great courage and initiative. Later, although wounded, he stuck to his post and re-organised the line. He has on many previous occasions done fine work."

 

Major George Herbert Forty's death is not commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as it falls beyond their cut off date of 31/08/1921.
