Born at Shepherds Bush, London. Son of Ernest Cecil and Gertrude Arabella Le Mesurier, nee Swain.

Royal Aero Club certificate no.2753 on Maurice Farman biplane 17/03/1916

Died of injuries received accidentally, whilst Piloting a DH.9, No.D1693, on test with extra drift wires ; 2nd Lieutenant A. Died, aged 21 years

Enlisted 21/9/14 ; Commissioned Temporary Sub Lieutenant RNVR 20/3/15 & posted to "Hood Company" 2nd Reserve Bn. Blandford ; Transferred to RNAS as Probationary Flight Sub Lieutenant 22/7/15, later Flight Commander RNAS.

DSO & 2 bars ; DSC 12/5/17 Pilot of bombing machine (14 raids) 1916-17 ; Bar to DSC 29/8/17 Bombing raid on Ghistellis Aerodrome ; 2nd Bar to DSC 21/6/18 Bombed Ostend Docks 23/4/18 & other achievements.
