Mauger, A C

St Sampson's Churchyard

St Sampson's Churchyard, Guernsey

Unfortunately Sgt Mauger's grave, along with several others, fell into Longue Hougue quarry in the 1960s. It would have been about 20 ft to the right of the tree in the photo in what is now a reservoir. Some bodies were recovered after the fall and reburied in four mass graves elsewhere in the cemetery.
