Captain Peter Benson Maxwell

Son of Sir William Edward Maxwell K.C.M.G.,
and Lady Maxwell. Husband of Eileen Muriel Maxwell (nee
Gordon).
He was born in Guernsey on 10 October 1880,
and his family lived at The Hollies, Grange, St Peter
Port. He was serving with the 35th Sikh Regiment when
he took part in the Waziristan Expedition in 1901-2. In
1909 he was promoted Captain, transferring to the East
Yorkshire Regiment in 1912. He was wounded at the battle
of the Aisne on 20 September 1914 and died of wounds three
days later.
