Extract from 'Distinguised Service Order 1916-1923':

PRIAULX, G. K. (D.S.O. L.G. 18.6.17); b. 15.9.77; 2nd s. of O. de L. Priaulx ; educ. at Harrow and Sandhurst; commissioned 60th Rifles 23.2.98; Lt. 51.10.99; Capt. 22.1.02. He fought through the S. African War, 1899-1002 (Despatches twice ; Queen's Medal, 6 clasps ; King's Medal, 2 clasps). He went to France in Aug. 1914, and was dangerously wounded in Sept. of that year, and again in Sept. 1915, at Loos, when he was in command of his battalion. After his recovery he was appointed to the command of another battalion, and in March, 1917, won the D.S.O. Lt.-Col. Priaulx was killed in action on 25.3.18.
