Eldest son of Jean L & Pauleen Tachon of Teighmore Cottage, Gorey, Jersey, Channel Islands. Husband of the late Mary Tachon (née Le Page) of Oberlands, St Martin's, Guernsey. Enlisted at Perth, WA.

Died of malignant malaria in Damascus, aged 32 years.

One of three brothers who served, two of whom fell in October 1918. Brother of Stoker Philip Tachon, RN

NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 30 October 1918

Died on Active Service. Mr & Mrs J Tachon of Teighmore Cottage, Gorey have received official news that another of their sons, Private John (Jack) Tachon of the Australian Imperial Force died on 22 October 1918 at the Australian Divisional Receiving Station in Damascus from malignant malaria. They have another son who is a prisoner of war in Germany. We offer our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
