George Edward Walden

His headstone was relocated from St. Sampson's churchyard in 1981 because of land slippage and is now located in the Sally Port Magazine, Castle Cornet, Guernsey.

Frederick George Le Prevost

The wall plaque commemorates parishioners who lost their lives as a result of the war and were buried in the churchyard.

 



Corporal George Edward Walden
321st Quarry Coy., Royal Engineers
05/03/1919

Born at Alderney. Son of Thomas and Fanny Walden. Husband of Louisa A. Carré, of 9, Victoria Avenue, Les Banques, Guernsey.

Died of pleurisy and pneumonia at the Military Hospital, Fort George, aged 52 years. He was on 28 days dispersal furlough and was taken ill as soon as he arrived on the island.
