Born in 1888 at St Sampson's, Guernsey. Son of James & Rachel Bichard. In 1891 he was living at Baubigny Road, St Sampson with her parents and siblings,
In 1901 he is living at home 4, Les Gigands, St Sampson, working as a Agricultural Labourer.
By the 1911 census he is Grower, living at Effards, St Sampson with his widowed mother.
