Obtained Royal Aero Club certificate (551) at the Deperdussin
School, Hendon in a Deperdussin monoplane, 10/07/1913
He was commissioned into the Royal Warwickshire Regiment
in 1909. Just before the outbreak of WW1 he transferred
to the Royal Flying Corps, and made military history
in aerial reconnaissance. He served in France and Egypt,
was awarded the DSO and mentioned in despatches five
times. He became a founder member of the RAF, and was
appointed to a permanent commission of Lieutenant Colonel
in 1919.
Born in 1889 in Hampshire. Son of Rev HenryWalter
& Amy Gabrielle Gabrielle Brock )nee Powell) of
St Peter's Rectory, Guernsey. He died in 1964
