Born in 1893 at Rennes, France. The son of Jean Marie Joseph & Anne Marie Joséphine Chapin. Husband of Guernsey born Léa Badaire.

Enlisted in the France armée de terre 08/08/1914 1914 and served in the armée de mer from 16/09/1914 . Demobilised 09/09/1919
