Even his regtl number had three varieties, 9630, 9639 and 9830! Taking the first as the actual one puts him as enlisting in January or February 1908.

Appears that he was born in Blackburn in either 1887 or 1890, and was certainly with 1/KORLR in India for the 1911 Census – 2/KORLR being in Jersey at that time
