William John Hicks

Lieutenant William John Hicks
17th Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment
(Formerly Sergeant 477403)

Born in 1888 at St Peter Port, Guernsey. The son of William & Ellen Hicks.

Enlisted 25/08/1915, at Halifax, after previous service.

Wounded at Ypres on 4/04/1916 by a smoke bomb. Shell shock and burns to his hands and face. Initially treated at no.1 Canadian Hospital at Etaples and then at several English hospitals.

He died in 1937
