Born on 25/09/1875 at Forest, Guernsey. Son of Daniel
Jehan & Betsy Lucas. Husband of Eliza France Wellman.
Retired as Lieutenant Commander. He died in 1929 at
Horndean, Hampshire.
When in command of Q-Ship HMS Inverlyon he sank the
German submarine UB-4 on 15/08/1915.
Jehan became the first and only commander to sink a
modern steel submarine with a sailing vessel and was
awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for this.
