He was born 18/1/1897 at Hubits, St.Martins, Guernsey and died 2 Aug 1982 in Australia. His parents were Jean François Philippe born at Grouville, Jersey and mother was Marie Louise Jarnot born in Plelo, France.
He married Catherine Harris 10 Apr 1922 in Plymouth and 6 children were born in Plymouth. Brother of Caronier Anatole Georges Marie Philippe & Nephew of Soldat Aristide Paul Philippe.

His second child, Francis John James Phillips, was killed on shore by the Japanese. DD 31/12/1944 after surfacing from H.M. Submarine Stratagem aged 19.
