Resident post war at Wei-hai-wei, Rue Boachée,
St Martin, Guernsey and ran a cycle repair/sales business.
China Medal 1900 Boxer Rebellion, 1914-15 Star,
British War Medal, Victory Medal, Royal Fleet Reserve
Long Service Medal 1922. Two wound stripes and at least
4 service chevrons (although possibly even the full
5 1 red and 4 blue).

Royal Marine Light Infantry as PLY9705 Pte, A/Cpl,
A/C/Sgt. Chinese Labour Corps as 2nd Lieutenant.
As a veteran of the Boxer rebellion the photo shows
the China War 1900 medal ribbon on his GS Officers
uniform.

He enlisted 21 March 1899 serving until discharged
11 Aug. 1904. Enrolled in Royal Fleet Reserve 20 Feb.
1906. Enrolled in Immediate Reserve 24 May 1912 until
discharged to Royal Fleet Reserve 13 July 1918. Granted
temporary commission in Chinese Labour Corps 26 June
1919. During the war he served on H.M.S Illustrious
13 July 1914 to 22 May 1915. Plymouth Division 23 May
1915 to 8 Feb. 1916. H.M.S. Victory (RM Brigade) 9 Feb.
1916 to 13 July 1918 when discharged to RFR. 16 Feb
to 21 May 1916 he was with M.F.E. at Mudros. 22 May
16 to 13 July 1918 with B.E.F. in France. 30 June 1917
he was attached to Chinese Labour Corps.
He was wounded in the chest (shell) 18 Oct. 1916.
He was a Private until promoted acting corporal 19
July 1916 and then acting colour sergeant 1 July 1917.
He was awarded the China Medal 1900 on 12 Jan. 1903
and the RFR LSGC medal in 1922.
