Born in 1887 at Jersey. The Son of Jean and Alexandrine Sangan (nee Vigot). Husband of Priscilla Clarke, and they lived at Orangeville, the Bouet, St Peter Port.

Brother of Sergeant Peter Edward Sangan

He enlisted in the Manchester Reg from 9 Sep 1914 till he was discharged 22 Nov 1914, the reason for his discharge being flat feet.
