Buried in an unmarked grave at this spot.

Guy Veal was born in London, the son of Thomas & May Veal. He enlisted at Mill Hill in 1907. Married Edith May Shepherd on 8/2/1908 in Guernsey. Two children born in Guernsey - Marjorie Violet & Guy Vere Allen (d. 1916). Resident at Cambrai Villas, Brock Road, St Peter Port.

Invalided 8/9/1915 after severe frostbite received in action in France in 1914. Toe amputations followed. Army medical records clearly state that his discharge in 1915 was directly due to frostbite whilst on "active service".

A Guernsey resident, he was employed as a steward at Fidelis Masonic Lodge 1809.

He died in 1918 from pneumonia, aged 31 years.
