NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Saturday 11 May 1918

Roll of Honour. News has been received of the death in action on 29 April last of Private W J de Carteret, youngest son of Mr Philip de Carteret of St John. The deceased, who was in his 30th year, leaves a widow and one child who reside at Bel Vue, St Marys, he had been in France since February of the present year. Before the war the deceased was employed at the Mont Mado Quarries and was well known in the district and the news of his death has been received with general regret. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the widow and family.
