NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 26 April 1916

Victoria College Roll of Honour - Death of Lieutenant Colonel J G Fairlie. Official intimation has been received of the death in action on 22 April of James Gordon Fairlie of the 6th Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, eldest son of Commander H J Fairlie of La Fantasie, Belvedere. The deceased officer, who was 39, was a pupil at Victoria College from 1886-88.
