Roll of Honour. News has been received
by Mrs John Le Huquet, who resides near St Martins Church,
that her son, Private John Stanley Le Huquet of the
Kings Royal Rifles died at the Military Hospital at
Le Havre on Saturday last of pneumonia following upon
wounds received in the field. The deceased, who was
the eldest son of the late Captain Le Huquet, was in
his 22nd year and a blacksmith by trade. When the Jersey
Company was formed he volunteered for service but was
rejected, but a little later he again volunteered, was
accepted and posted to the Kings Royal Rifles. He had
been serving in France for over 2 years and for some
months he had been attached to the Telegraph Department
of the Royal Engineers. To the mother and family of
this brave young volunteer soldier we tender our sincerest
sympathy.
