A Sergeants War Babies. Among the items
of news in our issue of yesterday was the interesting
announcement that the wife of Company Sergeant Major
Minahan of the East Surrey Regiment had given birth
to triplets at Kingston-upon-Thames and that mother
and children (three boys) were doing well. It has often
been noticed that when anything extraordinary occurs
in any part of the world Jersey people will be found
connected with it, it is so in the present case. Mrs
Minahan is the only daughter of Mrs Gallichan, a widow,
residing at Prairie Cottage, Les Vaux and she made the
acquaintance of that fine soldier her husband when he
was stationed here with his Regiment. Mrs Gallichan
at one time during the present war had three sons and
three step-sons in the Services, two were gassed at
the Front and are now in good billets in England under
the War Office, one is in the North Sea and the other
three are still on active service with the Army.
