NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 4 May 1917

Roll of Honour. The many local friends of Sergeant Henry (Harry) L Sohier, a popular young soldier who was serving in the Devon Regiment, will regret to hear that he made the supreme sacrifice on 14 April last. The gallant Sergeant was the son of Mr & Mrs L J Sohier of the Victoria Hotel, St Peter and father is now doing his bit in the Royal Defence Corps. The late Sergeant Sohier joined the Devons shortly before the outbreak of war and being a smart soldier and keenly interested in his work quickly received promotion. For a time he was engaged training the New Army and later proceeded to the Front where he proved to be of a fearless disposition. He has now, unfortunately given his life for King and Country. We tender the family our sincere sympathy.
