This tiny figure, approximately 7 cm tall, and probably
in pewter, was found on the battlefields of France by 186
Private Ned Burton, RGLI. He kept it right through the war,
and gave it to his wife on his return.
It has been a treasured family possession ever since, and
is now in the possession of his daughter, Mrs R. Torode."
